1. They were designed in the UK but are all handmade in India

We meet regularly with the crafts men and women to ensure they benefit from being part of a fair and respectful working environment. Our products are carefully stitched in a bright airy workshop, and the artisan’s ideas on new fabrics and designs are regularly embraced. We pay the workers a fair price for the bags and ensure a regular stream of work and job security

  1. We are working hard to be pawfect partners

We know we are not pawfect but we are working hard to be as ethical as possible and are keen to support local charities. Many of our bags are packaged at MK SNAP - a local charity working with adults with a learning difficulty. Learners here get genuine work experience and we get much needed help.

  1.  Fashion students are getting creative

We are keen to support and embrace new talent; continuing to work closely with the fashion department at Nottingham Trent University. We are currently working with a final year student on some new bag designs, but it is top secret for now. Once they have been trialed and tested we hope to launch a new range in time for Christmas.

  1. Paws for thought

We support several dog charities every year. This year we are working with Dog A.I.D.  so you may have seen their leaflets in our bags.  https://dogaid.org.uk     Dog A.I.D. (Assistance in Disability) is an inspirational charity which was established in 1992 to assist people with physical disabilities. They help improve the quality of life for people who need extra support by helping them train their own pet dogs to provide assistance with day-to-day tasks and in some circumstances providing life-saving interventions.

  1.  It’s a family affair

Barking Bags is a family business. It has provided a new focus for me and my husband, and part-time work for our daughter who lives with Crohn’s disease, a chronic health condition, which currently prevents her from taking up full time work.

Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are chronic (ongoing and life-long) conditions in which symptoms vary from person to person and will range from mild to severe.

Often referred to as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), symptoms  may change over time, with periods of good health when you have few or no symptoms alternating with times when your symptoms are more active .  Crohns and Colitis UK provide tips and advice and support for those living with the condition.

  1.  They give us bags of satisfaction

We love meeting our customers so please come and find us if we are at an event near you. You might even meet our little dog Maisie who got us into this business in the first place and if you have new ideas to share or if things go wrong – a bag fails to turn up, a strap breaks or we forget to pop in a free roll of poo bags, let us know. We want to be the best we can be.  We have some amazingly loyal customers and you are our very best ambassadors.

Customer feedback that give us an inner glow

Would just like to say your customer service is outstanding.

I wish more companies would be as attentive as you and customer focused.

"Very pleased with my Barking Bag, finally have enough space to carry extras which makes dog walking even more fun and safe for my clients! The separate pockets and clips are ideal for attaching whistles, clickers, anything depending on what you need it for! Have a feeling this bag won't be leaving my side any time soon"

I am so pleased with the bag I am buying one as a gift for my friend. I have been searching for a new bag for ages and these tick all the boxes.

Best Bag ever!!!!  Purchase of the year. It has a pocket for everything.

I am a dog walker and a couple of my colleagues have your bags. I have researched and researched for the best bag and yours comes out on top by a kangaroo’s jump  (which is massive!)”

Hi all, I received my brown leather bag and accessories pack yesterday... what can other than WOW! I absolutely love it! The products are amazing and your service has been first class throughout - thank you.  It's my 56th birthday next week so it's a present off my Mum - couldn't have asked for anything better from her.

Brilliant company, fantastic products and amazing service.

The bag arrived today, which is great service in itself. I opened the box to check and I was blown away. I should say that this is a present for my wife, and her idea of a hint is emailing me a link to the item she wants on your website. So I didn’t really have much idea of the details, I just ordered it. But I am most impressed – the bag itself seems very nice, lovely leather and lots of handy pockets and loop and links, obviously designed by someone who understands what you need on a dog walk (we have five dogs). And as a nice finishing touch, the roll of pooh bags and the hand sanitiser. I am sure she will love it

  1.  You can eat them

Ok, so that isn’t really true but a friend of mine did make one into a cake for my birthday which was pretty amazing. Can you spot the cake?

@katescakes

The one on the left is the only one which ISNT a cake!
